Hypersyllogistic Forums: New Apartment, New University, New Life - Hypersyllogistic Forums
This month brings many new developments for me:
Two days ago, I moved into a new apartment. For that decision, there were two important factors involved, a "push" and a "pull" factor: For once, my flatmate's girlfriend wanted to move in with my flatmate. So she asked me if I would move out. And the other reason is that I'll start studying at the Berlin Freie Universit?t april 11th, which is 1.5 hours away from my old apartment. Since I didn't feel like driving that distance two times per day, I decided to move closer to the university. Probably I'll miss my old quarter of Berlin-Friedrichshain (eastern center), because it is a really vibrant quarter with many young people, lots of caf?s and good occassions to get tasty cheap food 24/7, while the new quarter of Berlin-Steglitz (south-west) is older and less fresh, regarding demographics. But it also feels a little more "home" to me, because it is only 20 minutes away from the quarter where I grew up. Also, shopping occassions (supermarkets and department stores) are better there. The new apartment is really nice, fully refurbished two rooms, with a little kitchen and a small bathroom. This will be the first time I'll live completely alone, and I'm looking forward to it (no quarrels again with a flatmate). The relocation went pretty well the day before yesterday; there were a couple of friends and my father helping me, so everything was done within one afternoon. Still it was hard work and I still feel strong muscle ache. Another nice change to my life is because I start working in the retirement home (see below) again: Last week, the boss called me, asking me to retake this job 6 days per month again, which I accepted. This week, it's four days in a row, from monday to thursday; then next week tuesday again. I'm looking forward to this job; I'm used to it, since I worked there in the past years, and it's fun, although it's very exhausting. And, of course, it is very well paid. As student, I'll be happy for every bit of extra money I can get. So the schedule for the next weeks is completely filled: This week work in the retirement home, next weekend I'll have to paint the wall in the old apartment and to arrange my new apartment, and next week, finally, introduction days at the university are starting. Many changes in my life, and I'm looking forward to it. 2 Comments On This Entry

Congrats. You're moving on up... to the south west side
("Moving on up" is the theme song of the old show "The Jeffersons" about a couple that make it big and move) But they're making you paint your old apartment?
