I am inserting the word "earworm," from German vernacular, into the English language.
What is an "earworm"?
Go forth and spread this wonderous new word, so Merriam-Webster's must recognize it in a few years.

earworm: (noun) a song one cannot expunge from one's mind; a tune that plays repeatedly in one's head
Examples: "'Billie Jean' is an earworm."
Examples: "'Billie Jean' is an earworm."

I get mentally tortured by earworm all the time. I cannot expunge the catchy annoying songs out of my head.
