AKA "How "Dinesh D'Souza Learned to Start Hating Boobies and Appease the Terrorists"
In his townhall column, D'Souza writes,
Oh come on. Three sentences in and anyone who believes this big fish story should have their head examined. D'Souza is too well traveled (not to mention, his politics are too well known) to be under the impression that American culture is not sexually explicit or doesn't impact the rest of the world. Did the pious--not to mention completely blind-- D'Souza somehow miss the peeping thongs and the Janet Jackson Superbowl Jamboree? Has he never seen an underwear ad? Doesn't he know porn stars hobnob with GOP lawmakers at fund raisers? (And incidently, to even accept the premise requires both Dinesh and his readers to display a flagrant disregard of European and Japanese culture)
You don't say. I'm all in suspense. Did you come to the conclusion that they were right or wrong? Thankfully, D'Souza doesn't leave us in suspense:
Um... did I mention Family values republicans hobnob with family values republicans at fund raisers?
I can only wonder what you think about yourself. You see, Dinesh--Can I call you Dinesh?-- back when you still had a soul to sell, rather than a depraved book to hawk, you wrote:
Dinesh, in The Enemy At Home, you run the gamut. You Justify terrorism, affirm that America is the Great Satan, and rail against American global cultural hegemony and cultural oppression. You blame America for 911. You fault it for 911, and for continuing insulting the terrorists and their supporters with its culture. Slouching towards Gomorrah? By your own admission, we're already there.
"If those critics are right?" Dinesh, you've joined them.
In his townhall column, D'Souza writes,
On a recent trip to Istanbul I encountered a group of Muslim students who insisted that American culture was morally perverse. They called it ?pornographic.? And they charged that this culture is now being imposed on the rest of the world. I protested that pornography is a universal vice. ?Yes,? one of the students replied, ?but nowhere else is pornography in the mainstream of the culture. Nowhere else is porn considered so cool and fashionable

I wondered: are these students right?
You don't say. I'm all in suspense. Did you come to the conclusion that they were right or wrong? Thankfully, D'Souza doesn't leave us in suspense:
In some liberal intellectual circles, the advocacy of porn is now viewed as a mark of sophistication.
...
If we confine ourselves to liberal culture and its apologists, my Muslim interlocutors would seem to have a justified complaint.

The pornographer generally knows that he is a sleazy operator.

America is under attack as never before -- not only from terrorists but also from people who provide a justification for terrorism. Islamic fundamentalists declare America the Great Satan. Europeans rail against American capitalism and American culture. South American activists denounce the United States for "neocolonialism" and oppression.
"Anti-Americanism from abroad would not be such a problem if Americans were united in standing up for their own country. But in this country itself, there are those who blame America for most of the evils in the world. On the political left, many fault the United States for a history of slavery, and for continuing inequality and racism. Even on the right, traditionally the home of patriotism, we hear influential figures say that America has become so decadent that we are "slouching towards Gomorrah."
If these critics are right, then America should be destroyed.

It is rampant individualism which will destroy the West. We will fall for cultures that are stronger than us.

I have to ask: Is wanking a threat to national security?
Maybe you need sexual tension within the population to make it tough and strong, for that it has the right amount of will to fight for its survival against its enemies?
