Since web design is now my profession, I downloaded the Opera web browser so I could see how a small but dedicated subsection of the public views web sites. I wasn't expecting anything special, but this software has proven quite nifty. It's not as versatile as Firefox, but it is faster. Also, Opera plays better with the redesign of Hypersyllogistic on which I've embarked this week. :P

Firefox will probably remain my primary browser, but I shall fire up Opera often as well. I'm writing this very post from Opera.

Has anyone else here used the Opera web browser?

I use Opera, although Firefox is for primary browsing. Opera is backup browsing and most email/downloading.

Opera Email is nice and stable, although there are annoying quirks about it.

I've used Opera as well, I thought surfing with it was a lot faster and a lot smoother than with Firefox. However, the difference in speed wasn't that big, and I like Firefox better for its simplicity. Opera is so customizable, it has a lot of settings to customize the browser. I don't really need all that, so I stuck with Firefox.

I did like the options available to view pages as if you were using a text-only browser with only black and white colors. :)

I've used it a little bit. It has a much smaller memory footprint than Firefox. The downside is that some flash doesn't work well. Additionally, it struggles with some websites. The RTE on Trekweb wouldn't work at all.

I still prefer Firefox, but it's not a bad browser.

It's not a bad browser, but somehow I messed it up on my computer, so I don't/can't use it anymore
