I wouldn't even know where to begin, and my top three would probably change on any given week.

Right now, firing Cheney would nudge me near "despise him with less than 85% of my being" territory, a definite increase in support, but nowhere near liking.

Your thoughts? Go wild.

He would have to officially admit having lied regarding the Iraq war WMDs, dissolve Gitmo and pass a law making extralegal renditions illegal, fire Cheney and resign, and then sue himself for various charges of abuse of power and voluntarily go to jail. Then I might still dislike him very much, but at least he would deserve the absolute minimum of respect in my eyes.

A choice Worf quote to Q during the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Deja Q" comes to mind.

1.) Never involve Ted Kennedy in anything. 2.) Seal the border. 3.) Deport all illegals.

I noticed the poster state stem cells as a reason to like Bush if he allowed research.

I recentley read an article where scientists may have found a way to create stem-cells without destroying life.

Although I voted for Bush twice, I am dissapointed in him for the above reasons and others. But it looks like he got the stem cell issue right.
Sorry Michael J. Fox.

I wonder if the media and Bush haters will acknowledge this, if it turns out to be true?

No, they will probably just ignore it and continue to hate Bush over falsehoods, like they do now about the war and so forth.

See this thread for more about that topic.

Unless you're a vegetarian, as well as someone who never masturbates or uses contraception, that statement is rather hypocritical.

I grudgingly agree with you, but not for inane religious reasons. Rather, funding scientific research is not a constitutional function of the federal government. (I don't see it anywhere in Article I, Section 8, which specifies what the federal government may do.) Also, government funding can stifle innovation because it sets an enterprise on a pre-determined path, discouraging investigation of other avenues down which myriad private actors might have traveled.

Much of the great medical advances in history occurred without government help, so refusal of government funding for stem cell research in no way constitutes a prohibition of it, as some demagogues have portrayed it. If, however, Bush actually moved to ban stem cell research altogether, I'd call that yet another instance of his administration using the Constitution as toilet paper.

Nice reply Jason.

"Unless you're a vegetarian, as well as someone who never masturbates or uses contraception, that statement is rather hypocritical."

Not a veggie. I do not wish to answer the second one! ;-) I am married. What other contraception do I need!

All jokes aside;

I wish I had the article at hand. If I get time I will look for it. They are about to be able to make human stem cells out of mice stem cells. So "without destroying life" should have said "without destroying human life."

As far as the illegals. They come here and drive down pay. Thats why we "wont" take those jobs. Then, they do crappy work. Then you cant find them. The fact is, they committed a crime to begin with in illegally crossing our border. Either we protect the border, hold criminals responsible, or not.

Also, does the term "Balkanization" mean anything to you? These people are not coming here to assimilate and become Americans. Many are involved with the racist publication "La Raza" (the race) in an attempt to re-take the south west. This is not just a rant. These are documented facts.

You have not made this remark, but those who call anti-ILLEGAL immigration people like me "racists" are nuts. Actually, it shows that they realize their is no argument possible that can justify criminal illegal undocumented immigration, so they try to misdirect and create guilt.

I really like this site Jason. A place to come and have civilized discussions. Really cool!
