Think for yourself.
Question authority.
Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos; it has been the authorities- the political, the religious, the educational authorities- who attempt to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations. Informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself.
Think for yourself.
Question authority.

To me, a lawyer is basically the person that knows the rules of the country. We're all throwing the dice, playing the game, moving our pieces around the board, but if there is a problem the lawyer is the only person who has read the inside of the top of the box.

Walked to a few local garage sales today. Got Madonna's Ray of Light, Collective Soul- Dosage, Paula Cole's This Fire, Cheap Trick at Budokan and a Celine Dion cd with a bunch of her most recognizable stuff for $1.50. Score!

Hey Merlinus, I remember we once talked about Rammstein and you said you don't know that German band. If you like industrial rock, maybe you'll like Rammstein too. Here an example:

It's not exactly my cup of tea, but many of their music videos are funny.

I'm listening to "Snow Patrol"--"Shut Your Eyes" now.

Have a couple of albums that are getting rotation right now....

Flyleaf - Flyleaf
Paramore - Riot!
Smashing Pumpkins - Greatest Hits
Rammstein - Mutter
Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero Remixed

On the topic of Rammstein (which came from a recommendation by Sim)...obviously I don't understand the lyrics cuz its in German. But the music is pretty good. Good call, Sim.

Hey Merl! :)

I'm glad I could help! ;) Merry Christmas to you! I hope you have a good time!

As for Rammstein: I can only take it in small doses, but many of their music videos are hilarious and/or very stylish. In case you haven't done so yet, it's worth checking them out (they should all be available on Youtube). Apart from "Sonne", you should also check out "Links Zwo Drei Vier", "Mein Teil" and "Keine Lust".

And if you want me to translate some lyrics for you, I'm to your disposal! ;)

I'm currently listening to "Nickelback -- All the Right Reasons". Great album.

After avoiding Mariah Carey most of my life, I became a big fan of her last month I received a $20 ITunes gift certificate for Christmas and, for want of anything better to purchase, I bought her Greatest Hits album. Listening to that reeled me into Mariah fandom; subsequently getting and hearing her latest album, Emancipation of Mimi, secured my place there. I'm now a devoted Mariah fan who's eagerly awaiting the release of her next album this April. ;)

Here are some of my favorite Mariah Carey songs:

"Hero"

"Fantasy"

"Honey"

"We Belong Together"

New Nine Inch Nails album just came out. Ghosts I-IV. Basically, its 36 instrumental tracks, all kinda experimental. Extremely creative stuff. You can get it for 5 bucks on the Nine Inch Nails website. 5 bucks, and you can download it in one of several formats, including FLAC (lossless audio). Totally worth it, if you like their music.

A bunch of 80's new wave dance club 12" singles I inherited, burned to MP3s and loaded onto my phone, including March Of The Sinister Ducks by the Sinister Ducks, featuring comics guru Alan Moore on lead vocals.
