For many of the same reasons given by an erstwhile editor of the National Review, I have grave doubts about the prospect of a John McCain presidency. I don't agree with many of Barack Obama's positions, but I support him for president because 1) a McCain administration would be much worse; and 2) I believe Obama represents a more civilized style of politics than his opponent does, as he usually acts resolutely without ever hitting his opponents below the belt.

Rather than sit on my ass, I'm using my special talents to promote my beliefs. The result is this blog: "Is John McCain Ready?" As my site site description says, its goal is to "fill in the blanks the mainstream media leaves about the GOP's 2008 presidential candidate, Senator John McCain."
