Something has enraged Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Democratic Senator from New York, and for once, it's not the latest stratagem of the Republican Party. What has inspired her ire is... a video gam...

This is a funny yet accurate take on the situation:

It's the parents responsiblitiy to be involved with thier children what they are reading interested in, playing how they se it or think of it and what they are watching on Tv. Muh dad gave me Hemmingway and Shakespeare... not grand theft auto...*shrugs* when are parents going to stop ucking and start being more invovled stop syaing we are too busy making a life for yo uand paying the bills blah blah yo utook on this repsnsiblity to take care and mold another life...stop being such panzy's. And video games dont make kids kill..we all know thats rap music. *grins* That was a joke. You want the truth it's not video games it's boredom and when you can relaize that sad horrific fact then we can talk more.

You want the truth it's not video games it's boredom and when you can relaize that sad horrific fact then we can talk more. If that were the case... That's rather amusing... Somehow all those dumb jocks out there learned how to beat the crap out of people and how to screw without GTA. I'm afraid if it weren't for video games, we wouldn't have any crime to deal with! Our police officers would be out of work! That thing in Rwanda? Damn GTA for making them do it! Never mind that they didn't even have PS2's...
Pfft. Damn politicians. It's quite obvious we've learned to commit violent acts without the aid of video games. Or do you think the crusades happened because one too many good christians spent too much time on their xbox? (those Islamic n00bs r hax0rz! ban them from life!) Well, I'm afraid we've got a NEW crusade these days... And it's against video games. Those poor fools. What utter morons they are. Those Jack Thompsons of the world. When will they stop blaming our generation for playing video games...? Maybe when they realize that it's their generation making those video games, marketing them to children, and raising their kids on them? No, it's much easier to let your own generation profit off of it then turn around and blame us for your ethical misgivings. #7

Every generation, society blames its problems on a convenient scapegoat instead of examining itself closely. In the middle ages, that scapegoat was the devil. In the 19th century, it was books (reading of which we now consider a sign of enlightenment). In the early 20th century, it was comics. In the late 20th century, it was television. And now, it's video games.
I imagine, in the future, instead of critically analyzing ourselves, we'll find another scapegoat to hold accountable for our problems. ![]() "People should not be afraid of their governments.
