In the past, the DVD season sets of
The X-Files DVD's have ripped off fans to the tune of more than $100. Next year, Twentieth Century Fox will end that practice!

On January 31, 2006, Fox will rerelease the first three seasons of
The X-Files for $50 MSRP, with Amazon.com offering them for only $35. (
The X-Files Season One,
The X-Files Season Two, and
The X-Files Season Three.) Their packaging will be slighter, probably more like that for the
Firefly series, but the content will be the same as that of the initial release.
This is good news for science fiction fans everywhere. Enjoyment of this classic series will now be within the reach of thousands, if not millions, more people. And Fox's price reduction might induce other companies (I'm looking at you, Warner Bros. and Paramount) to follow suit.
