Travesty: Daniel Craig replaces Pierce Brosnan as James Bond I imagine I won't be alone in shunning the next movie#1

Pierce Brosnan mastered the Bond role with the intensity of Sean Connery, the wit of Roger Moore, and ample suaveness that was his own. Brosnan reignited the James Bond franchise, whose flame had died in the 1980's, carrying the most recent James Bond films to $1.5 billion in worldwide box office earnings. (Brosnan did only 4 movies, yet they netted 37% of the $4 billion total earnings of the 20 Bond movies!) The producers of James Bond owe Brosnan everything; yet they've dumped him for this Daniel Craig nobody.
This is a slap in the face to Brosnan and to Bond fans. The fans like Brosnan, he's one of the most profitable Bonds ever, and he still wants to wield 007's Walther PPK, so the producers should have let him do it! At 52, he still has at least one thrilling James Bond film left in him. The producers will rue their decision when the next Bond movie flops worse than License to Kill. ![]() "People should not be afraid of their governments. The Bond series must have some kind of death wish that makes me think they want to end it. Daniel Craig is a terrible choice. What a sad day for the Bond series. Daniel Craig don't look anything like a James Bond. He looks like a sissy. Pierce Brosnan is the sexier one. I'm surprised by the poor choice.

Did you ever seen Casino Royale it is the first bond movie actually and it stars a one time actor i forget his name but Bond was actually an american in this story lmao... But anyways... Roger Moore was a mama's boy but he was humerous...Timothy Dalton was a dolt..Peirce eh *shrugS* Jason is right about his saving the franchise but he just bores me. He isnt even British. Or is he?

That wasn't a movie, but a television pilot that aired in 1954. The description makes me think we ought to consider Dr. No the first actual James Bond screen appearance. In any event, Brosnan is my favorite Bond. He's funny, tough, and sophisticated in the role, IMO. I think off-the-wall gadgets and implausible villains are what define Bond movies. Take those away, and nothing separates 007 from Jason Bourne, Jack Ryan, or any other secret agent character out there. Also, as License to Kill demonstrates, the absence of neat technology translates to box office failure, too. ![]() "People should not be afraid of their governments. I didnt attack his toys..and for the record i think it's Bond's personality and his love for the girls..and btw dont forget to mention the bond girls..the truly best toys and most impressive gadgets in the movie...but it was his charisma that seperated him...you cant say Bourne, Jason Bourne i nan american accent and do anything..heh... ![]() ![]() "Your rights are protected by 4 boxes. Bond has always been and will always be about action, smooth talking, and style... At least in my opinion
It's going to be strange seeing a new face for bond... This guy doesn't look much like the older ones. #7

It's going to be strange seeing a new face for bond... This guy doesn't look much like the older ones. He looks like an evil Russian who'd be one of James Bond's targets. ![]() "People should not be afraid of their governments. I f I recall correctly, the studios have forbidden this new James Bond to smoke, to "promote a positive, healthy image". I suppose he'll be non-alcoholic and celibant, too. Doesn't it seem odd that they'd castrate JB and present him to an audience that is too young to give a damn about him, while alienating him from the audience that has kept him popular for 40 years?

To be fair, James Bond hasn't smoked for years. In Tomorrow Never Dies, he referred to smoking as "a filthy habit." I do find odd the studio's wish to "promote a positive, healthy image" with James Bond. The character is all about living on the edge, with stunts, babes, and booze. That isn't "healthy." If we wanted to watch healthy people, we'd rent a workout video. Or go to the gym. ![]() "People should not be afraid of their governments. Does that mean I'm interesting? No. But, as the smiley with the sign says ![]() "People should not be afraid of their governments. He is probably more responsible for Std transmission then monkies. ![]() ![]() "Your rights are protected by 4 boxes.
