Can anyone recommend good books about World War II? The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer and Plotting Hitler's Death by Joachim Fest cover the German side pretty well, but I'm looking for books that cover the Allied side or the various military campaigns in that much depth. I've already read The Conquerors by Michael Beschloss, dealing with Allied planning for the fate of Germany after the war. What are some other good books? Does anything exist for the Allies or for the campaigns with the scope of Shirer's tome?
