When my mother gave me this book and told me that it was a vampire novel that was less than graphic, I was rightfully skeptical. Not often do you see or read anything to do with vampires that isn't "written with blood." I actually didn't even give this book the time of day for a month or so after I got it, but one day I was bored so I decided to start reading it. I am now a quarter of the the way through it and am totally in love with it. What it lacks in the realistic death and mutilation that accompanies most vampire tales, it makes up for in the keen ability to keep the reader's interest.

I haven't finished the book, as I said, so I can't quite rate the entire thing yet; but I can give the first 17 chapters are a 10 of 10.

Think for yourself.
Question authority.
Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos; it has been the authorities- the political, the religious, the educational authorities- who attempt to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations. Informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself.
Think for yourself.
Question authority.
