To enhance the communal atmosphere at Hypersyllogistic, I've purchased and installed the Photo Gallery component from Invision, which makes the forums software we use. All registered members can upload graphics and create albums. No limit exists on how many images you can upload or albums you can make, but please exercise common sense restraint.
Only registered users can view the Gallery.
At the outset, I've implemented four categories: Member Pictures, Photography, Artwork, and Screenshots. In the first three categories, members can create their own albums. In the Screenshots category, members can upload images to the category itself and its subcategories. (For some reason, I can't allow album creation and photo uploading in the same category.)
If anyone has any suggestions or problems, please post them here.

Also, in your blogs, you can now implement content blocks linking to the albums you've created and displaying a random photo from your albums.

Do you have any objections against opening the galleries for non-registered visitors too?
Because, you know, I would like to show my galleries to friends, and some of them are hesitant registering here only in order to see them.
Or maybe it would be possible to make general viewing optional when creating a gallery?

My concern about that is, some people might be reluctant to upload their pictures if the general public could see it.
As a compromise, I've enabled public viewing for the Photography, Artwork, and Screenshots categories. One must still log in to view the Member Pictures category.
